Warm cinnamon roll–inspired roll-ups filled with sweet cream cheese; golden, cinnamon-sugar coated and ready in 25 minutes.

# What You’ll Need:

→ Filling

01 - 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
02 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
03 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Roll Ups

04 - 8 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
05 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
06 - 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
07 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

→ Egg Mixture

08 - 2 large eggs
09 - 1/4 cup whole milk
10 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ For Cooking

11 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

# Directions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until completely smooth.
02 - Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread into an even thickness.
03 - Spread a thin layer of the cream cheese filling along one short edge of each bread slice and roll up tightly.
04 - In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
05 - Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.
06 - Dip each filled bread roll into the egg mixture, ensuring all sides absorb the custard.
07 - Heat unsalted butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place roll ups seam-side down and cook, turning as needed, until golden brown on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
08 - Immediately brush or roll the warm roll ups in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to achieve an even coating.
09 - Serve roll ups warm, optionally accompanied by maple syrup or a dusting of powdered sugar.

# Top Tips:

01 -
  • These roll ups feel so fancy but are secretly the easiest breakfast trick in my playbook.
  • Every sweet, creamy bite has that perfect cinnamon swirl you’d expect from a bakery treat.
02 -
  • If the bread isn't fresh and super soft, it'll crack when you roll—use the freshest loaf you can find.
  • Waiting too long to coat with cinnamon sugar means it won't stick as well; do it while they're still hot and just out of the pan.
03 -
  • Let the roll ups rest for a minute before cutting—they hold together better that way.
  • A pinch of sea salt in the cinnamon sugar actually intensifies the flavor, so give it a try.
